Description

Species composition and distribution data of diatom was collected at 9 sampling sites in the Cijiawan Creek watershed in 2019. The survey results showed that 50 diatom species in 24 genera were identified in 9 sample sites.

Data Records

The data in this sampling event resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 92 records.

2 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Sampling Methods

Randomly pick up the stones and take 3 replicates in the stream from each sample site. Then, the collected stones were scraped with a toothbrush to scrape algae samples with an area of about 16-25 cm 2 , and the algae samples were collected in bottle and identified in the laboratory .

Study Extent The study sites is located in the Cijiawan watershed in the Wuling area of Shei-Pa National Park.

Method step description:

  1. All the samples were first concentrated in a centrifugal machine for 10 minutes at 3,500 rpm
  2. Subsequently, acid washing was conducted using concentrated sulfuric acid.
  3. Observation and identification the algae were performed using an electron microscope.
